Don’t be confused by my brief detour to Sochi, Russia for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. It doesn’t mean that I have forgotten about our 4 week Brazilian exploration. I have decided that, whenever appropriate, I will write some additional posts that I categorize as special events, especially when they take place in other countries. These events are great ways to enhance our learning as we explore the world one suitcase at a time.
One of the best experiences I ever had was working at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as a Commentary Systems Analyst. Being at the Olympics in person has truly made me feel the “Olympic Spirit” every time this global event takes place. I was thinking about ways I could make the Olympics more meaningful for my girls and was very excited to find an amazingly comprehensive Winter Olympics Pack that Jill from Enchanted Homeschooling Mom put together.
