It’s an awesome privilege for our family to support a little boy in Nicaragua through Compassion International. We love to pray for little E every night before bed, write letters to him, and sponsor him. Monthly sponsorship releases little E from desperate poverty in the name of Jesus by providing education, health care, food, and the opportunity to learn about Jesus.
So tell me, who else wants to release a child from poverty?
Start A Compassion Sunday Event
Compassion Sunday is an event sponsored by Compassion International to make more people aware of the needs of children living in poverty. On Sunday, April 24th you and your church can find sponsors for waiting children.
Compassion makes it easy, by explaining exactly how to set up an event at your church with their FREE planning guide.
Feeling Nervous?
Does it make you feel nervous to think about setting up an event at your church? You’re not the only one. Michael is a firefighter in Washington who felt the same way. Listen to his story on this video to find out how he overcame his nerves and decided to spread the word about Compassion. I think you’ll be encouraged.

I love how informative your post is! I keep praying that one day our church will be open to Compassjon Sunday. We did them at our previous church, but I have to remind myself that we attended a few years before being allowed to do them there. So I just have to be patient. In God’s time! But they’re so fun to do!

Thanks Hannah. I will pray that the door will open for you to do them again!
