At Mommy Maleta we explore the world one suitcase at a time. Sometimes the best place to start exploring is in your own backyard. My backyard is in northeast Ohio. With the harsh winter we’ve had and are still experiencing I am more than ready to get outside this spring.
So I am pleased to announce that Discovery Toys just released their new spring products which really encourage backyard exploration! Here are some of my spring favorites.
GeoSafari Bugwatch
I “discovered Discovery Toys” while planning my blog launch party this past fall. I invited a few vendors to showcase their products. Discovery Toys was one of the vendors. I looked through their catalog and was really impressed with their award winning and nationally recognized line, and even more impressed when I saw the toys in person.
Because the focus of my blog is world geography, I was immediately drawn to a game called Name That Country. I thought it would be a great game to feature on my blog. One of the reasons I am promote world geography education is because according to My Wonderful World, a National Geographic led campaign and a National Geographic-Roper survey, “half of young Americans can’t locate world power countries like Japan and India. Twenty percent can’t even find the Pacific Ocean.”
Those stats are troubling to me. So, in addition to becoming a blogger, I became a Discovery Toys Educational Consultant so that I can promote products that encourage learning about world geography A-Z and every subject in between.
If you have any questions about any of these products please comment or email me at mommymaleta@gmail.com.
Finally, what are some additional ways you plan to explore your world one backyard at a time? Please comment to let me know.
