It’s heating up here in NE Ohio. We are in the 40’s, with 50’s soon to come. With the Cold, with a capital C, weather we’ve been having, 40 degrees is feeling like 80 degrees right about now. So I am not kidding when I say I am ready for a nice, refreshing glass of hint of mint lemonade.
A Real Thirst Quencher
Apparently, lemon mint drinks are popular thirst quenchers in Omani cafes. I can’t wait until the day that I can hop on a plane to Muscat and see for myself. But for today, I was quite content to finish my 2nd day coaching high school tennis knowing I could rehydrate after practice with a glass of hint of mint lemonade that was chilling in the fridge.
4 Ingredients From Refreshment
The best part about this recipe is knowing you are only 4 ingredients away from refreshment, or should I say refreshmint?
Ingredients
- 1 59-64 oz bottle of lemonade. I used Simply Real Lemonade.
- 1 tablespoon orange water
- 1/4 cup freshly chopped mint leaves
- 1 cup crushed ice
Instructions
- To make the orange water, cut an orange into slices leaving the rind on. Place the slices into a tall glass of water. Refrigerate a few hours or overnight.
- Pour the entire bottle of lemonade in a pitcher
- Add one Tbsp orange water and mint leaves and stir
- Place pitcher in fridge for a few hours to let the orange and mint infuse the lemonade
- When ready to serve add the crushed ice to the pitcher
- Use a sieve to strain the leaves while pour lemonade into serving glasses. I actually placed a sieve over a large glass measuring cup, poured the lemonade into the measuring cup, and then poured the strained lemonade from the measuring cup into glasses.
- That’s It! Very Simple.
A Refreshing Verdict
Both of my daughters loved hint of mint lemonade. I had to smile after my older daughter took a big gulp and belted out, “Refreshing!”
My thoughts exactly…
If you want a refreshing experience, I suggest trying this recipe out for yourself. Bring the entire pitcher outside, pour a tall glass full, and imagine you are relaxing in Oman.
