This is my first Mother’s Day back in the United States in three years. Our family recently returned from living abroad in Lima, Peru. The Mother’s Day celebrations in Peru absolutely blew me away. I’ll tell you a bit more about how we celebrated, but first, I want to share three free printable Mother’s Day cards in Spanish with you.
I created a little collage to give you a preview of what the cards look like.
Celebrating Mother’s Day in Peru
Now, getting back to Mother’s Day celebrations in Peru… I taught English at a bilingual Peruvian school which was an amazing experience because I learned about lots of the fun traditions. Children throughout the country from preschool through high school participate in Mother’s Day presentations.
At my son’s preschool the children sang songs for their moms, presented them with elaborate gift they made at school, and served plates full of sandwiches, fruit, and other goodies.
At my daughters’ school where I worked, a Starbuck’s latte and panini, and another gift awaited me at my desk when I walked into my classroom. It was a gift to all the teachers who were moms from the administration. As my students entered the classroom many of them presented me with gifts as well.
After my students in my classroom finished a presentation for their moms, I went to my daughters’ classrooms. My 4th grade daughter’s class presented handmade cards and gifts, recited poems and passed out doughnuts to all the moms.
My 7th grade daughter’s classroom performed a play and song. My daughter played the ukulele and other students played other instruments. After the performances all of the children are dismissed early to go home with their moms.
My kids are currently doing an online school program while we transition, so Mother’s Day won’t be quite so elaborate this year. It will be great though because I’ll be with my kids.
I hope you enjoy these free printable Mother’s Day cards in Spanish have an amazing day as well celebrating with your moms, kids, and other family members.
