It’s true that some people are hard to shop for, but when it comes to kids, I usually have the opposite problem. I have to narrow my list down to a few of the many great gifts ideas to help my kiddos explore the world.
I imagine little fingers unwrapping gifts, and then turning pages, or grasping crayons to color all the exciting places in the world in their new coloring books. I can almost hear little voices asking grandpa and grandma if they know why the the Tower of Pisa is leaning. And I just savor it, because I know the childhood hourglass is ticking.
To help us both, I created this gift guide for little world explorers. I divided the list into 4 main sections:
- Games
- Books
- Maps, Globes, Stickers, & Coloring Books
- Little Passports: a fun subscription plan to help kids explore the world

Fantastic list! I really like the look of the Passport to Culture game. I’m going to have a look to see if I can get it over here in the UK.
Mommy Maleta says
I hope it’s available in the UK Crystal. Thanks for checking out this list.

I love the look of the Brain Box! We have the inflatable globe and it’s a great, fun way to teach kids about geography when they ask the “where is ____” kind of questions.
Great list!
Mommy Maleta says
Hi Jill! I think the Brain Box looks fun too. And I hear you on the “where is….” questions. I used to think I’d remember the answers to lots of questions and now that my memory is not what it used to be, resources are the way to go. : )
